Week 4 marks the start of interconference play, although a few divisions got close, no division fully swept their conference rivals. Not much in the way of outside story lines, but we will continue marching towards the playoff push.
Week 5 continues our 4-week block of conference games, Heroes vs Legends (101 Conference) and Leaders vs Victors (280 Conference). Will this be the week one division asserts their dominance in their respective conference?
1. SINCERE's Team (▲1)
3-1 | 151.70 PPGAnother week of play, another week SINCERE's Team scores 150+ points. This week, SINCERE's Team covered their opponent's score (80.10 points) with two players, QB Josh Allen (44.50) points and RB Christian McCaffrey (45.20 points.) With the highest average score in the league and, and Cold Hearted Krispies entering the 1-loss club, SINCERE's Team had to ascend to the #1 spot of our Power Rankings. Next week, SINCERE's Team takes on playoff rival Ronnie's Squad, let's see if they can succeed where their division-mate Cold Hearted Krispies failed.
Key Injuries: WR Mike Evans (questionable)
2. Cold Hearted Krispies (▼1)
3-1 | 132.10 PPGCold Hearted Krispies scored high. Third highest of the week. Too bad they faced the highest scorer for Week 4, Ronnie's Squad. Even with impressive performances by RB Derrick Henry (25.88 points), WR Steffon Diggs (33.00 points) and WR DJ Moore (23.10 points), CHK was let down by their fearless leader, QB Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes scored the lowest he ever has while healthy (13.22 points.) With RB Austin Ekeler and WR Diontae Johnson still injured, CHK just did not have enough depth to handle the onslaught of Ronnie's Squad's lineup. Let's see if CHK can have a bounceback week against Julio Think You Are? I Am!.
Key Injuries: RB Austin Ekeler (Out), WR Diontae Johnson (on IR, at least 1 more week - listed as indefinite)
3. Shawn Brady ◄►
4-0 | 110.90 PPGNot sure how Shawn Brady is still ranked this high or how they have made it this far without a loss, but here we are. Averaging 4th best in the league, means that even with a loss, Shawn Brady likely stays near the top of power rankings. WR Tyreek Hill showed he was human by posting his first single-digit score of the season. The team was carried by RB DeAndre Swift, off-season acquisition RB Alvin Kamara and WR DeVonta Smith. Although Shawn Brady did not score in the triple digits, they walked away with a win and have a favorable matchup next week, so we could not justify a demotion in our rankings.
Key Injuries: RB Saquon Barkley (questionable)
4. Ronnie's Squad ◄►
2-2 | 126.70 PPGRonnie's Squad enters the highest scorer of the week club this week, posting a 153.56 score. The more important part, is they got a tough win over conference favorite Cold Hearted Krispies. Ronnie's Squad displayed the power they have without needing their running backs, as they even started an RB that did not play and beat one of the strongest teams. Ronnie's Squad will need a repeat performance as they face-off against #1 SINCERE's Team. Ronnie's Squad would likely be #3 if they didn't drop two games earlier this season.
Key Injuries: RB Elijah Mitchell
5. Horsedick boy'z (▲1)
3-1 | 106.20 PPGScoring the 4th highest this week and only having 1 loss, we had to put HDB in the top 5. With a steady stream of production from their starting skill players, HDB made a strong case, their flex and TE position were lacking though, combining for 8.20 points from all three players. With WR Jameson Williams coming back, that should relieve them on their reliance on their boom-or-bust flex positions.
Key Injuries: QB Deshaun Watson (out), WR Christian Watson (out), RB J.K. Dobbins (indefinitely)
6. SexySandwich (▲3)
3-1 | 105.20 PPGWeek 4 brought another win for SexySandwich. Scoring 3rd highest in their division, and all walking away with wins, SS didn't make any progress in the division, but is only 4 points off of 2nd place. With another win next week, SS can take control of a division that is up in the air.
Key Injuries: RB Nick Chubb (season-ending)
7. Team_MAGA (▲1)
3-1 | 107.80 PPGTEAM_MAGA is contuining their impressive start to the season with another win, this time over The 37th Chamber. TM's lineup had a good outting, even without their starting TE producing any points. TM really benefitted from RB David Montgomery, who is looking like 2022 RB Jamaal Williams, and WR Nico Collins, who is turning out to be a great target for the young QB in Houston.
Key Injuries: QB Justin Herbert (questionable, expected to play after bye week), WR Odell Backham Jr. (questionable)
8. ThatManAgain... (▼1)
3-1 | 98.80 PPGThatManAgain.... won, but only because they faced 1 of 4 teams they outscored. In the off-season, TMA was poised to have a dominant team for 2023, however with several off-season storylines not falling TMA's way (mainly RB Jonathan Taylor v. Colts, and NY Jets sign RB Dalvin Cook), TMA is averaging 98.80 points (8th), which is exactly middle of the pack. Underperforming/injured QB Joe Burrow was benched this week by TMA for QB Jared Goff, not something we would see until Burrow's bye week. For another week, TE Kyle Pitts scored below 5 points (3.10 points), making his total on the season 16 points over four health games. Two in-game injuries limited the production of the WR core, WR Tee Higgins suffered a rib injury, resulting in a 2.90 point game, and WR Davante Adams was hurt mid-game but powered through it to put up 11.50 points.
Key Injuries: RB Jonathan Taylor (questionable, eligible to be removed from PUP list - but is has not been removed yet), WR Zay Jones (questionable, limited practice), WR Tee Higgins (questionable, DNP in practice), WR Davante Adams (questionable, DNP in practice)
9. Julio Think You Are? I Am! (▲2)
3-1 | 91.10 PPGJulio Think You Are? I Am! picked up a win in Week 4 against Untouchables, with JTYAIA having to start QB Desmond Ridder, this game was much closer than it needed to be. This week JTYAIA started the correct rookie RB, De'Von Achane. Achane seems like the real-deal, but only time will tell. Although QB Kyler Murray was able to return from the PUP, reports say he is still several weeks away. WR Cooper Kupp is set to return this week, and just in time as JTYAIA is set to face #2 Cold Hearted Krispies this week and #1 SINCERE's Team the week after.
Key Injuries: QB Kyler Murray (on PUP, estimated for several weeks), WR Cooper Kupp (on IR, eligible to be removed from IR, but not yet), WR Noah Brown (IR out for 3 weeks)
10. The 37th Chamber (▼5)
2-2 | 106.10 PPGQB Justin Fields. For the last 3 weeks he has not performed up to The 37th Chamber's standards and was benched in Week 4. Fields decided to have a career day, throwing 335 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT and rushing for 25 yards, totaling 34.90 points. A mid-game injury to RB Javonte Williams led to an early exit and a low point total. Between benching Fields and Javonte getting hurt, 37C likely would have won this week, but benching Fields for QB Jameis Winston (-3.00 points this week) proved to be a costly mistake.
Key Injuries: RB Javonte Williams (questionable), WR Mike Williams (season-ending ACL injury)
11. Subject to Change (▼1)
1-3 | 91.20 PPGFor a 3rd straight week STC has lost a game. With their QB room in shambles Mac Jones (-1.30 points) and Derek Carr (injured, left the game with 3.18 points), STC had to turn to rookie LV QB Aiden O'Connell. Without the 2 turnovers (2 fumbles, 1 INT), O'Connell likely could have turned in a respectable game, but with the negative points, O'Connell scored below 10. STC's players missed all of their projections (except 2022 playoff run hero, RB James Cook), resulting in the team only scoring 69.42 points, 2nd worse in the league.
Key Injuries: QB Derek Carr (questionable)
12. JonLegends ◄►
1-3 | 88.10 PPGJonLegends's win streak ends at 1. JonLegends might have won if they had a different opponent, as JL outscored 5 other teams. The investment in RB Jahmyr Gibbs and Dalvin Cook have not paid off yet, but if either of these RBs start producing as expected, we expect JL to make a case to rise up the Power Rankings.
Key Injuries: None
13. The Gold Standard ◄►
1-3 | 83.30 PPGThe Gold Standard did not live up to the standard they set the last 3 weeks, scoring only 79.22 points. They were within striking distance of their opponent, but underachieving players (9 out of 10 players scored less than projected) led to TGS losing this week. Luckily, TGS's bench has several options for viable replacements, while also having an excess of production in the QB department.
Key Injuries: WR Wan'Dale Robinson (questionable), WR Josh Reynolds (questionable)
14. Untouchables ◄►
0-4 | 88.20 PPGQB Anthony Richardson showed why Untouchables drafted him so high (1.05), as he showed his dual threat skillset, throwing for 200 yards, 2 Passing TDs and rushing for 56 yards and 1 Rush TD. A majority of the team missed projection, but UTCH still almost beat Julio Think You Are? I Am! (94.34-83.80.) With Week 5 being the first of the bye weeks, this will be the first game UTCH will be without their WR1, WR Keenan Allen. UTCH is getting back a WR Rashod Bateman, from injury though.
Key Injuries: WR Treylon Burks (questionable)
15. I'll Fuck Your Dad ◄►
0-4 | 72.60 PPGJust when we thought I'll Fuck Your Dad has turned it around, they show up with a league low 43.24 points in Week 4. With only 2 players scoring in double-digits, one 0-point performance (WR Jordan Addison), it was no suprise they couldn't break 50-points. As they are are projected to score the lowest in the league in Week 5, they may be on their way to #16 sooner, rather than later.
Key Injuries: QB Aaron Rodgers (season ending), QB Kenny Pickett (questionable), RB Justice Hill (questionable), RB Chase Edmonds (IR, out for 2 weeks), TE Dawson Knox (questionable, limited practice)
16. 21 Cabbage ◄►
0-4 | 71.90 PPG21 Cabbage has a chance to get their first win this week, as they take on The Gold Standard (projected score 81.88-83.26). 21C has a team that looks fine on paper, some of them just didn't perform in Week 4. It would not have mattered much, as their opponent was the highest scorer in the league and exceeded their own expectations by 36 points.
Key Injuries: QB Geno Smith (questionable), RB Dameon Pierce (questionable)
