Divisions
Divisions
The South Bay Hyphy League consists of four divisions, the 101 Conference and the 280 Conference, each conference containing 2 divisions.
101 Conference
The 101 Conference is home to the Legends and the Heroes divisions.
280 Conference
The 280 Conference is home to the Leaders and the Victors divisions.
Division Naming
The South Bay Hyphy League chose to forego directional divisions within each conference, such as North and South to keep with the Bay Area Highway theme established by the conferences, but instead chose take after the NCAA Big Ten with the naming of the first two divisions: Leaders and Legends. Heroes and Victors were chosen for the last two names, to keep with the superlative positive theme.
Initial Configuration
For the inaugural SBHL season, the teams were placed into divisions and conferences based on initial draft position in the Maiden Draft. Initially the Heroes division (Division 1) would have the 1st (Shawn Brady), 2nd (The 37th Chamber) and 3rd pick (SINCERE's Team), and Legends (Division 3) would have picks 7 (Subject to Change), 8 (Alhamabra_Water) and 9 (Ronnie's Squad). The Leaders division (Division 2) would have the 4th (Horsedick boy'z), 5th (Garrett's Team) and 6th pick (But SKEEEEEEEEEEEUP), and Victors (Division 4) would have picks 10 (TD Do You Love Me), 11 (Sexy Sandwich) and 12 (ThatManAgain....).
Realignment
After the 2019 season, divisions were realignment to promote parity amongst the divisions. The divisions are as follows:
The Heroes division (Division 1) would have the teams that finished 1st (Horsedick boy'z), 5th (Sexy Sandwich) and 9th (Team_MAGA formerly Alhamabra_Water).
The Leaders division (Division 2) would be the teams that finished 2nd (Garrett's Team), 6th (Ronnie's Squad), and 10th (Shawn Brady).
The Legends (Division 3) would be the teams that finished 3rd (The 37th Chamber), 7th (Subject to Change) and 11th (ThatManAgain....).
The Victors (Division 4) would be the teams that finished 4th (SINCERE's Team), 8th (TD Do You Love Me) and 12th (But SKEEEEEEEEEEEUP).
Realignment was initially going to happen every off-season, but during the 2020 off-season SBHL vote, the league decided to keep the divisions they way they were decided after the completion of the 1st season. This is the current configuration.
