Week 1 in the books led to some unexpected Power Rankings shake up. As with every year, the first few weeks are highly volatile.
1. Cold Hearted Krispies (▲1)
1-0 | 136.84 PPGScoring the highest in Week 1, we had to push CHK to the top of our rankings. A win over division opponent SINCERE's team also had much to do with putting CHK at #1. Projected to beat The Gold Standard by about 30 points, the highest projected score and no injuries, CHK is poised to stay at the top of rankings in Week 3.
3. The 37th Chamber (▲3)
1-0 | 103.42 PPGAlthough they scored higher than SexySandwich, they are going up against defending cham Subject To Change. We can't ignore the found value in WR Puke Nacua who has inherited LAR WR Cooper Kupp's role for the next 3 weeks. We are still unsure of the value of QB Justin Fields as he looked like his 2022 self, favoring running over throwing.
4. Shawn Brady (▲3)
1-0 | 99.64 PPGShawn Brady's bet on veteran WR Tyreek Hill proved to be a saving grace, as Hill led the league for points scored by wide receivers. There are two glaring holes on SB's roster WR Kadarius Toney and RB D'Andre Swift. They have a monumental test going up against Ronnie's Squad, who is projected to score 2nd best in the league in Week 2.
5. Julio Think You Are? I Am! (▲4)
1-0 | 101.30 PPGJulio Think You Are? I Am! eeked out a win against division rival, Ronnie's Squad with an amazing performance by RB Aaron Jones. The decision came down to their last player (WR Garrett Wilson) on MNF to secure the win. WIth QB Kyler Murray and WR Cooper Kupp still unable to play, it's hard to move up JTYAIA any higher than 5 this week. Looking forward JTYAIA is up against 21 Cabbage, who based on projection will make this game a lot closer than JTYAIA would like.
6. SINCERE's Team (▼2)
0-1 | 104.94 PPGSome would argue SINCERE's Team should be ranked higher, as they scored the 2nd-most points in week 1, and would have won against any other opponent, but a loss is a loss. A terrible performance by QB Josh Allen, a goose egg by K Graham Gano and several players missing projections made this game a lopsided victory for Cold Hearted Krispies. ST's bounce-back game is against Untouchables, and they should win comfortably (projected 118-85).
7. Team_MAGA (▲3)
1-0 | 97.32 PPGTeam_MAGA suprised many, putting up 97.32 points in Week 1. Led by QB Justin Herbert, RB David Montgomery and WR Nico Collins, TM would have secured a win against half of the league. Their next week opponent Horsedick boy'z, are facing some injury problems already and had one of the lowest scores in Week 1.
8. The Gold Standard (▲3)
1-0 | 98.60 PPGWith a healthy QB for this year's Week 1, TGS showed us what they can do, putting up 98.60 points, which would have won against over half of the league. We don't expect TGS to stay in the Top 10 next week, as they face off against Cold Hearted Krispies and are expected to lose by 30 points.
9. Subject to Change (▲4)
1-0 | 70.20 PPGThe defending champs dealt with key injuries to TE Travis Kelce and WR Jerry Jeudy with the resolve that got them to the Hyphy Bowl last year. Despite scoring 4th lowest for week 1, STC still defeated pre-season favorite ThatManAgain.... by 4 points. Looking to Week 2, STC has another tough challenge, going up against The 37th Chamber.
10. Ronnie's Squad (▼9)
0-1 | 97.30 PPGRonnie's Squad suffered a tough loss (4 points, as a result of a Monday Night game) in Week 1, but otherwise had a strong performance, putting up 97.30 points. 97.30 points would have resulted in a loss to 8 opponents, and it was luck of the draw based loss, but it's a loss none the less. Next week should be easier, as they have Shawn Brady up next, who they are are projected to beat by 16 points.
11. Untouchables (▲3)
0-1 | 80.92 PPGA good first week for Untouchables (outscoring 5 other teams), leads us to bump Untouchables up to #11. The off-season addition of WR Keenan Allen and the drafting of QB Anthony Richardson were two bright spots on the UTCH roster. UTCH could have scored much more and likely got a win as they had 51 points between 3 players (Joshua Kelley, Roschon Johnson, Tyler Allgeier) on the bench. If UTCH makes the necessary adjustments, they might be able to have a respectable record in 2023.
12. Horsedick boy'z (▼9)
0-1 | 62.96 PPGA tough week for HDB as 9-out-of-10 of their players underperformed their projected performance, and RB JK Dobbins left the game with a season-ending injury. HDB's depth will be tested as reports of several of their players are dealing with injuries lingering from the pre-season (WR Christian Watson - hamstring, WR Terry McLaurin - turf toe, TE George Kittle - calf injury, backup TE Cameron Latu - IR).
13. ThatManAgain... (▼8)
0-1 | 66.18 PPGOne of the roughest weeks in ThatManAgain....'s history, a 3-point performance by QB Joe Burrow, a 0 by WR Tee Higgins and several players missing their projection led to a 3rd lowest score of Week 1 (66.18 points). TMA is looking to turn it around against JonLegends next week, as TMA is projected to win by 30 points.
14. I'll Fuck Your Dad (▲2)
0-1 | 82.46 PPGI'll Fuck Your Dad started off the season with a pretty good outting, putting up 82 points which would have beat 6 teams in the SBHL, but ultimately resulted in a loss. With RB JK Dobbins getting injured, IFYD just inherited a starting RB in Justice Hill. IFYD has a tough road ahead, but might be able to siphon off some wins in the coming weeks.
15. JonLegends ◄►
0-1 | 71.78 PPGJonLegends had a tough opponent in Week 1, and likely wasn't getting to Week 2 with undefeated. The JonLegends's wide receiver room was the area of the team that did not pull their weight. Rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs and off-season addition RB Dalvin Cook looked good this week. JonLegends has another tough opponent this week, ThatManAgain...., and is projected to lose by 30 points.
16. 21 Cabbage (▼4)
0-1 | 51.18 PPGThe Week 1 performance 21 Cabbage turned in was not a reflection of their potential. With every player underperforming their projection, the result was a 51 point effort. Looking ahead, many of the players are poised to have better Week 2 performances, which still may not result in a win, as they face off against Julio Think You Are? I Am!
