The Top 10 stays the same this week, but there is some shuffling in the Top 5, and some shuffling in the second 5. As the prophets RedFoo and Sky Blu said "every day I'm shufflin'."
Week 5 ranking: 2 (▲1)
TD Do You Love Me claims the top spot this week with a win over Commissioner Shawn Brady, and SINCERE's Team finally joining the rest of the mortals suffering their first loss. With King Henry on bye, TD Do You Love Me had to look elsewhere for RB production and RB3 Rhamondre Stevenson stepped up to the plate, scoring the most on the entire team this week. Next in the sights of TD Do You Love Me will be is the best performing expansion team; AbeFroman.
Week 5 ranking: 4 (▲2)
ThatManAgain.... coasted to another win this week against SexySandwich. Another week without Jonathan Taylor available, TMA found RB production from the 2022 1.01 Breece Hall. ThatManAgain... had a slow start to the season, in terms of Power Rankings, but slowly inched up the Top 5 to #2. This week ThatManAgain.... has a relatively easy matchup with the expansion team I'll Fuck Your Dad.
Week 5 ranking: 1 (▼2)
SINCERE's Team bled for the first time last week going up against last week's top scorer Ronnie's Squad. Had SINCERE's Team faced any other team, they would have walked away unscathed and entering this week with a perfect record. With key injuries to Hollywood Brown and last week's injury to Rashaad Penny, SINCERE's Team has a few weeks to address those needs if they want to make a deep playoff run.
Week 5 ranking: 5 (▲1)
With a decisive win against The 37th Chamber, Horsedick boy'z climbs up the Power Rankings by one to #4. Powered by the youngest offense in the league they have Subject To Change this week. Can Horsedick boy'z continue this impressive 2022 campaign? My guess is yes, with a projection that almost doubles their next opponent, HDB looks to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Week 5 ranking: 3 (▼2)
With the highest score posted last week, and handing SINCERE's Team their only loss this year, we found the dropping in Power Ranking interesting. The calculations took in to account this week's matchup and the fact that Ronnie's Squad is missing Jalen Hurts, Stefon Diggs, Justin jefferson and AJ Brown. This week's opponent is The Gold Standard who is getting back Tua Tagovailoa and powerhouse receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Last week we saw The Gold Standard hand pre-season league-favorite Julio Think You Are? I Am! a loss, will Ronnie's Squad suffer the same fate?
6. SexySandwich
Week 5 ranking: 7 (▲1)
Another week where SexySandwich scored below 100 points, results in another loss. Luckily, SexySandwich is projected to score 98 points, which should be better than next week's opponent The 37th Chamber (proj. 80.45 points.) Things are looking up for SexySandwich as QB Daniel Jones has had a pretty good season in the NFL so far, Brandon Aiyuk comes off a successful week, Nick Chubb is a Top RB and found-gold Brian Robinson Jr. looks to be the bell cow in Washington. Sitting 2nd in their division, SexySandwich looks to put more space between them and #3 (Team_MAGA), with a projected win against The 37th Chamber.
7. Team_MAGA
Week 5 ranking: 9 (▲1)
TEAM_MAGA suffered a tough loss to Subject to Change with goose eggs by two of their Wide Receivers, Elijah Moore & Dyami Brown. If Team_MAGA wants to put gain some ground on SexySandwich in the Heroes Division, they will need a win against the winless JonLegends this week.
Week 5 ranking: 6 (▼2)
No one saw this coming, but Julio Think You Are? I Am! lost to winless The Gold Standard last week. This leads JTYAIA to #13 in overall standings, last in their division, but still sporting the #5th best points for stat. JTYAIA is facing expansion team BUE this week, but as JTYAIA has dropped games to AbeFroman and The Gold Standard, nothing is guaranteed. We have to keep JTYAIA in the Top 10 of our Power Rankings based on potential and talent alone, but another loss next week might drop them into double-digits, not a place they have ever been before.
Week 5 ranking: 10 (▲1)
As projected Subject to Change beat Team_MAGA by double-digit points. With a plethora of players out, they will need strong games from their entire lineup to beat Horsedick boy'z who will be at full-strength. Subject to Change has an above .500 record and is second in the division, but even with a loss this week and a win by #3 The 37th Chamber, Subject to Change should be able to wither the storm and keep their 2nd place bid in the division.
10. AbeFroman
Week 5 ranking: 8 (▼2)
With a close win and a loss by Shawn Brady, AbeFroman stays in second place in the Leaders Division. As a result of some Monday Night Football luck, AbeFroman squeaked out a win against fellow expansion team BUE, as BUE's only hope got injured during the pre-game warm-up resulting in a 0 spot, and a 1-point loss. AbeFroman faces-off against TD Do You Love Me this week, and hopes the Alvin Kamara trade made earlier in the season (with TD Do You Love Me) pays off. AbeFroman has taken down one pre-season Top 5 team already, Julio Think You Are? I Am!, let's see if lighting can strike twice as they face TD Do You LoveMe.
11. Shawn Brady
Week 5 ranking: 11 ◄►
Shawn Brady lost a heartbreaker to TD Do You Love Me last week, as starting either of their viable Wide Receivers would have resulted in a win. Shawn Brady looks to capitalize against SINCERE's Team who Josh Allen, Hollywood Brown and Rashaad Penny out this week. SB is getting back Dak Prescott and D'Andre Swift, but losing DeVonta Smith (to bye) this week, but that might not be enough to defeat the #1 Points For team in the league.
12. The 37th Chamber
Week 5 ranking: 12 ◄►
The 37th Chamber posted one of the lowest scores this season (59.50 points) and lost to Horsedick boy'z last week. It wouldn't have mattered as 37C would have lost to anyone they faced, so there is not much harm losing to someone not in their division. The 37th Chamber has an uphill battle as they take on SexySandwich this week, who are projected to outscore 37C by 10 points. If The 37th Chamber looks to make any ground up on Subject to Change, 37C will need to take a win off of SexySandwich and outscore Subject to Change by 40 points.
Week 5 ranking: 13 ◄►
The winner of the Barber Bowl, I'll Fuck Your Dad defeated JonLegends by a comfortable 20 points. Posting a score of 88.70, IFYD would have beaten 7 other opponents, so Week 6 was a great performance for this expansion team. 2022 rookie pick Kenneth Walker III looks like a great draft pick now that Rashaad Penny is out for the rest of the season. IFYD has a projected score of 94 next week which would be formidable, but they face-off against juggernaut ThatManAgain.... With a a loss and a great game next week, we may see IFYD take over The 37th Chamber in our Power Rankings next week.
Week 5 ranking: 15 (▲1)
The Gold Standard beat Julio Think You Are? I Am! with starting quarterback Skylar Thompson! Who? Yeah, the QB3 for the Miami Dolphins. Thompson didn't contribute much, as he left the game in the first half with an injury (which seems to be The Gold Standard formula), but the rest of the team rose to the occasion. Anchored by Tyreek Hill, the receiving core for The Gold Standard posted enough points to take down JTYAIA. The Gold Standard has had quarterback trouble all year, but looks to be getting Tua Tagovailoa back this week against a weakened Ronnie's Squad. Can TGS make this 2-straight weeks of taking down top Points For teams?
15. BUE
Week 5 ranking: 14 (▼1)
With a tough loss due to relying on a Monday Night Player (who got injured Monday evening), BUE couldn't muster 1 more point to beat AbeFroman. One of the closest games all season, BUE lost by 0.32 points. With Julio Think You Are? I Am! up next, BUE is going to have to dig deep to sneak a win next week. If both BUE and The Gold Standard lose next week, BUE will have a 20-point cushion before dropping to last in the division.
16. JonLegends
Week 5 ranking: 16 ◄►
JonLegends lost another game. This time to fellow expansion team and barber I'll Fuck Your Dad. JonLegend's zero-QB strategy is not working out for him, and with no real QB, we don't see any change in performance in the near future. JonLegends is taking on Team_MAGA. With several of JonLegends main point-scorers out (due to bye or injury), they look ahead to Week 8, as Week 7 doesn't look too fruitful.
Week 7 has many of the top SBHL performers out on bye and anything can happen any given Sunday, but if the projections are relatively close we shouldn't see very many changes in the Power Rankings or league standings next week. With several upsets in Week 6 a few teams will have bounce-back opportunities in Week 7 as they seek to enact vengeance for their poor performances.
